Minutes of the Meeting of the Rootstown Township Zoning Board of Appeals
December 19, 2006

The regular meeting of the ROOTSTOWN ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS was held on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at the Rootstown Town Hall.

Mr. Kelsey called the meeting order. Mr. Kelsey introduced the Board members and explained the evenings' procedures.

The first item on the agenda was an application for a variance from Section 350.03-G-3 for the expansion of a 3000 square foot addition for property located at 4524 Lynn Road in a C-2 District submitted by:

Mr. Kelsey swore in Melissa Hemp, 324 Wirth Ave., Akron, OH 44319. Mrs. Hemp said they would like to add an addition to the building to be used to accommodate the school age children in the morning. It would then be used during the day as an indoor playground for the pre school children. In the summer time it would be used for the school age students that they watch. Right now they have to turn away about 15 to 20 students.

Mr. Mills asked Mr. Mahood when the first permit was issued. Mr. Mahood said he did not know but could look it up. Mr. Mills asked if the overall of the new addition would look like the rest of the building. Mrs. Hemp said it would be attached by a breezeway and look just like the current building.

There were no more questions from the rest of the Board members.

Mrs. Hemp was the only person in the audience so there were no questions, comments, or concerns.

Mr. Kelsey reviewed the application

Resolution ZBA 2006-035. Mr. Mills made a motion to grant the variance request from Section 350.03-G-3. Mr. Cutright seconded it. A vote was taken as follows: Cutright - Yes Friedl - Yes Saillant - Yes Mills - Yes Kelsey - Abstained. The motion carried by a vote of 4/0/1.

Resolution ZBA 2006-036. Mr. Friedl made a motion to accept the minutes of the November 21, 2006. Mrs. Saillant seconded it. The motion carried unanimously (5/0).

Mrs. Saillant made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Kelsey adjourned the meeting.
