The kitchen is designed to serve the departments three shifts by having three storage pantries available. Because there are firefighters working 24 hour shifts, this allows for each shift to store the necessities needed for daily meals. The kitchen is equipped with standard commercial appliances and has a hood fire suppression system protecting the stove.
There is also a department communication calendar in this area. This calendar serves to communicate to the incoming duty personnel normal daily shift transfer information, what is scheduled for the day, or groups/organizations that are utilizing the departments facilities.
